Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I pick up the keys?

Tombarra 4B has a coded front door lock, and the door code will be provided to you by Thredbo Ski Accommodation prior to arrival.

Are tea and coffee provided?

The apartment has a Nespresso machine - so bring your favourite pods to provide your daily caffeine hit if that's your thing! We also have a teapot to make up a relaxing brew. The local FoodWorks supermarket (less than 5 minutes walk, close to the Village Square) has a great selection of coffee pods and tea on offer - they're open every day summer and winter to stock up on what you need. The kitchen also has a small stock of basic items such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar and some dried herbs that you are welcome to use.  There is also usually cling wrap, foil and baking paper in the kitchen drawers.

Can I connect to the internet?

Yes, Tombarra 4B has free WIFI, with the username and password provided on arrival in the apartment and also the online guest compendium (accessed via QR code in the apartment). There is also an HDMI cord to connect a laptop to the TV so that you can access Netflix or other catch up TV websites via the WIFI.

Can I do laundry during my stay?

Yes, there is a washing machine and dryer within the apartment for Tombarra 4B guests.   There is also an ironing board and iron. The drying cupboard (within the entry area of the apartment) provides hanging space above a heater that can be left on overnight to dry damp ski gear (pants, jackets, gloves) and ski boots. Simply turn on the heater and hang your things - or place the items on the grate suspended above the heater, and check that the wall switch for the heater is on.

Do I need to bring linen and towels?

No, Tombarra 4B provides fresh linen, towels, hand towels and bath mats.

Do I need to bring toiletries?

Tombarra 4b supplies travel size hand soap, shampoo and conditioner and toilet paper at the start of your stay. You'll find a hairdryer in one of the bathrooms. To stock up on anything extra that you need you can visit FoodWorks Supermarket (open 7 days) near the village square.

Do you supply cleaning products?

Yes, the kitchen is supplied with dishwashing detergent, a brush and sponge, tea towels, dishwasher detergent, broom and a dustpan and broom (next to the fridge).  There is an upright vacuum cleaner in the cupboard in the Master bedroom.

What do we do with our rubbish?

There are two rubbish bins under the kitchen bench - one lined with a bin bag for non-recyclable rubbish, and one for re-cycling (cardboard, glass, plastic).  These can be emptied into a shared rubbish alcove which is situated outside on ground level, to the left of the front steps behind a small door. Please put all non-recyclable rubbish into one of the large metal bins, and put items for recycling into the bags provided.  Thredbo staff empty the rubbish from this alcove on a regular basis.

Where can I park my car?

While the apartment doesn't have a reserved parking space, there are six unreserved spaces outside Tombarra which may be available on arrival.  If these are full, you can double park outside the front door in Bobuck lane to unload (please allow space for cars to pass while you're unloading) and then park in one of Thredbo's large overnight car parks, just off Friday Drive (back toward Friday Flat) and only 5 minutes walk away..

How far is it to the ski slopes?

Tombarra 4B is a 5-minute walk to the Valley terminal in the main village, where you can catch the Kosciuszko Express lift,  Snowgums Chairlift or the Merritts Gondola.  The apartment is 10 minutes walk to Friday Flat, which is the beginner ski area, and where you can catch the Gunbarrel Chairlift or the beginner's Easy-Does-it quad chair.  Since Tombarra 4B is on Bobuck lane just across from the Thredbo River, the walk in both directions is flat.  You can also catch the main Thredbo shuttle bus service to Friday Flat from a bus stop just 2 minutes walk away toward the Valley Terminal on Friday Drive (at the end of the Thredbo Alpine apartment parking area, across Bobuck lane from the Service Station).

Where can I buy my groceries?

There is a well stocked supermarket in Thredbo (Foodworks), as well as a Chemist and newsagent, along with many restaurants, a bakery and cafes, ski shops and other retail.  Jindabyne has a greater variety of shops, including a Woolworths Supermarket.

Where can I hire ski gear and bikes?

Thredbo has ski equipment hire (winter) and bike hire (summer).  Jindabyne, Cooma and Berridale also offer a wide range of ski hire options in winter.

Entry to Kosciuszko National Park

Since Thredbo is situated within the National park, you will be required to pay an entry fee to cover the length of your stay at Tombarra 4B.  We suggest you visit the Kosciuszko National Park website for the latest information about park entry fees:

http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/visit-a-park/parks/Kosciuszko-National-Park

Please be aware that National Parks staff check for correct display of entry tickets on vehicles parked in Thredbo regularly throughout the year, and often daily during winter.

Will I need chains in winter?

Kosciuszko National Park recommends that vehicles should carry chains in the park between the June and October long weekends, over winter.  They are required by law for 2WD vehicles if you wish to drive on the Kosciusko Road past the Thredbo river (up towards Perisher Resort), on the Alpine way from Thredbo to Tom Groggin, or on the Guthega Road.  KNP also recommend carrying chains into Thredbo from Jindabyne, as they may be required, depending on the weather conditions.  Please be aware that although you may not need them to get here, conditions may change substantially during your stay, and you may need them when you leave. Chains can be hired from Jindabyne or Cooma, and Khancoban.  We suggest you visit this link to view information about driving in snow:
